Did Vince Foster really suffer from depression, or did he know too much about the Clintons causing them to kill him? Vince Foster was Hillary and Bill Clinton’s lawyer until one night he was found dead in a park. Was it depression that caused him to kill himself? While that may have been easy to believe at the time, the note found in Vince Foster’s briefcase suggests otherwise. There are many conspiracy theories about Vince Foster’s strange death, so let’s take a look at some of them.

Vince Foster was a very smart and talented man. He was born on January 15, 1945, in Hope, Arkansas to Alice Mae and Vincent W. Foster (“Encyclopedia of Arkansas” 1). He went to Hope High School and was head of the senior student council. Later he went to Davidson College and graduated in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology (1). Afterword, Vince Foster went to Vanderbilt University Law School but ended up transferring to the University of Arkansas School of Law where he graduated first in his law class, got his Juris Doctor (J.D.), and had the highest score on the state bar exam (1) (“Vince Foster” 1).
He was so talented that after graduating from the university, Vince Foster worked at the Rose Law Firm in 1971 and soon made a reputation as one of the most successful trial litigators in the state (1). An article by Amy Casil:
One of his colleagues at the Rose Law Firm, who had worked with Foster since 1982, said he was “a wonderful individual who is ethically sound.” She further said “the appointee puts the client first and himself second … [he is] well-liked and respected both as both an attorney and private citizen. He has outstanding abilities and is the best writer she has ever assisted. (Casil 1)

Vince Foster also hired Hillary Clinton as his partner; at the Rose Law firm is where Vince and Hillary became close friends (“All You Need to Know about Vince Foster from ‘Impeachment’ and What Happened to Him” 2). Vince Foster became head of the Arkansas Bar Association where he met Hillary Clinton and later, he became a very important figure in the White House (1).
Vince was a very talented man who studied at Vanderbilt University Law School and while he was studying served as a national guard in the height of the Vietnam War (1). Later, he became Bill and Hillary Clinton’s personal lawyer and close friend. It is reported that “Foster, the Dean said, was ’one of his very best students for as long as he had been teaching law, and he gives the appointee his highest recommendation for a position of trust and confidence with the United States Government ‘” (“What About Vince Foster?”3). Vince Foster was a very smart and talented man who served a very important role in the White House.

When Vince Foster died there were two important conspiracy theories. One states that he could have been depressed about his job and concerned he was giving a bad image of himself causing him to take his own life. The other states that Hillary and Bill Clinton hired a hit man to kill Vince Foster right before he tried to testify against them.

The first conspiracy theory suggests that Vince Foster was depressed about his job and decided that it was his time to go. At first, Vince Foster was concerned that calling a therapist would cost him his security clearance (Casil 1). So, he found a therapist who could help him off the record, but no one answered his calls, so he called his doctor and he prescribed Vince some antidepressants (1). A suicide note later was found on July 26, 1993, in Vince Foster’s briefcase when he died, here is what it says:
I made a mistake from ignorance, inexperience, and overwork. I did not knowingly violate any law or standard of conduct. No one in the White House, to my knowledge, violated any law or standard of conduct, including any action in the travel office. The FBI lied in their report to the AG. The press is covering up the illegal benefits they received from the travel staff. The GOP has lied and misrepresented its knowledge and role and covered up a prior investigation. The public will never believe the innocence of the Clintons and their loyal staff. I was not meant for the job or the spotlight of the public life in Washington. Here ruining people is considered a sport. (1)

Now, this may have been believable to the media at the time, but this is not how Vince Foster wrote. Many believe that Hillary Clinton or Bill Clinton wrote the suicide letter and slipped it into Vince Foster’s briefcase. An article by Amy Casil says “That voice, very likely, is that of Hillary Clinton. Maybe the two talked about the White House Travel Office scandal, and maybe these were notes of “talking points” she recommended. Someone tore the note up. Someone kept it. Someone put it in that briefcase in his office for it to be “found” after his death” (1). While this conspiracy theory may have made sense at the time, it is very hard to believe that Vince Foster died right before he tried to testify against the Clinton, especially in the position he had in the White House. As a personal lawyer for the president, he must have known every detail about Bill and Hillary even the ones they did not share with the media. Therefore, this conspiracy theory is very hard to believe to be true.

The second and last conspiracy theory is about Hillary and Bill Clinton. Many of Hillary and Bill Clinton’s employees and coworkers have died in strange ways before testifying against them, like Ron Brown dying in a plane crash, but he had a bullet wound in his head just like Vince foster (Rowan 1). While it may have been believable that Vince Foster was depressed and had shot himself, evidence suggests otherwise. The .38- caliber revolver gun Vince Foster shot himself with did not have any fingerprints, nor did Vince Foster's shoes have any dirt or gravel on them (Farley 1). It is reported that Donald Trump said, “He had intimate knowledge of what was going on, he knew everything that was going on and then all of a sudden he committed suicide” (Bixby 1). Now, that just does not sound right. Another thing that caused lots of suspicion is that right after Vince Foster died Bill and Hillary Clinton had Vince Fosters office cleared from top to bottom including all his papers, notes, and files were torn and thrown away (1). Now, why would the Clintons get rid of everything if there was nothing to hide? The gun Vince Foster had when he was found also had gone missing, and to this day is still missing. How could a piece of evidence such as the gun used in the accident go missing? The one artifact that could have had the assailant’s fingerprints when missing, now there are only a few people who could get away with that. Hillary and Bill Clinton have been in suspicious cases with thirty-nine different people including Vince Foster and Ron Brown (“PolitiFact - No, the Clintons Aren’t Responsible for More Deaths than the Coronavirus” 1).

Hillary and Bill Clinton have not been accused or charged with anything to this day.
There is no evidence that the Clintons killed anyone or hired anyone to kill him. Vince Foster’s family believed it was suicide and moved on. While there may not be any proof that the Clintons killed Vince, it is strangely suspicious that thirty-nine different people who worked for the Clintons ended up dead. To this day Vince Foster death was ruled out as a suicide. Many people including Donald Trump think that it is very suspicious that Vince Foster new everything about the Clintons and then mysteriously committed suicide (Bixby 1). A man like Vince Foster with children, a great job, and lots of education just dies on some random day does not add up. There is something that the Clintons are hiding from us and hopefully one day they own up to what has happened, and why so many people have died around them.
